We had an amazing experience working with Alex to develop an MVP of our new AI offering. Alex quickly grasped our product concept (and also jumped on customer discovery calls with us) in a way that allowed us to get something high-quality off the ground while setting up a flexible foundation for future development. I cannot overstate what a great choice it was to recently work with Alex Rudall on a project. He was able to successfully integrate OpenAI functionality with a web application using Ruby on Rails and the ruby-openai gem that he personally authored. His understanding and thoughtfulness to create the MVP was remarkable. His intuition allowed him to quickly grasp the issues involved in a healthcare setting and the many nuances associated with collecting healthcare information from various sources... In the end, he had successfully developed an MVP which we will incorporate into our operations and continue to use. I worked with Alex for a little over a year at Mo in the same team. It was an absolute pleasure on a personal and professional level. In delivery, and under tight deadlines, Alex was great to work with, and I learned a lot about computer science and building things in the right way. Beyond that, what stands out about Alex is that he cares. He cares about the problems which we are trying to solve with technology, the people we are trying to solve them for, and the team culture while doing it. I'd be super happy to work with him again...probably why I'm always trying to twist his arm into working on side projects.

Working with Alex is a delight. We've spent so many hours pair programming together and every time, he demonstrates an excellent ability to comprehend, hold and express the mental models of the systems he's working on. When I say express, I mean in terms of writing code as well as explaining to fellow developers and non-developer colleagues. He's demonstrated time and time again that he has a lot of empathy for users, and is not afraid to be an advocate for them with superiors and contemporaries. In the rare occasions that Alex makes a mistake, his humility comes through sincerely and his never-ending desire to learn new skills and improve his existing ones. He is patient, kind and a great communicator, and hopefully I've made it clear that he is a really, really excellent developer. I've really enjoyed working with him.
